About this event

Would you like to make a difference to others living in Stonehouse? Would you like to help encourage those who have been affected by crime to get support?

We would like to invite you to attend our 3-day Restorative Justice Facilitator training. The training will take place over 3 separate days, on the last three Wednesday's in March from 09:30 - 16:30.

Restorative Justice offers the chance for victims of crime to communicate with those who have caused the harm and share how the crime has affected them. Known to reduce offending and help people recover from crime, Restorative Justice is a way of bringing people together and building a safer community.

If you have attended our Restorative Justice Champions course earlier in the year and would like to complete the full facilitator training, do join us.

Our Facilitator Training will enable you to practise full restorative conferencing (meetings).

You can acquire the skills and approach needed to use restorative approaches effectively in your community and in other situations. This course provides lots of learning opportunities to practise new skills in a safe environment.

Key areas of learning will focus on a 5-step model, motivation for involvement, participation, emotional readiness and preparation for formal conferences (meetings).

This training will enable you to feel confident and able to hold restorative conversations with individuals and facilitate restorative meetings and/or follow restorative principles within your own community and situations.

This course is delivered face to face, which can be facilitated safely following Covid-19 rules depending on the situation at the time with the pandemic.

Places on the course are limited to 16, so we recommend you book in soon!

Places are free for Stonehouse residents and those involved in the Safer North Stonehouse project. If you are not a Stonehouse resident or a professional wishing to attend the training, please do contact us.

We look forward to having you with us and helping you make a positive difference.
